Riot Games has made a tradition of debuting new songs featuring established artists at the League of Legends World Championship every year. That song usually precedes the tournament, and has never previously launched later than the end of September. Yet here we are, days into the tournament, and we’ve got no song. The song was meant to be out by now, as our sister site the Loadout notes. ESPN writer Tyler ‘FionnOnFire’ Erzberger says he asked people at Riot about the song, and their answers were “yes, it exists,” “they want it out just as much as everyone wants it out,” and “things are coming along and it was supposed to come out earlier.” For its part, Riot says the song is “not quite ready yet.” We do have a remixed version of the orchestral anthem for Worlds, but that’s not exactly what fans have been looking for. For now, fans will just have to wait for the new track’s debut. Or listen to last year’s song a couple of hundred million more times.
