Yes, it looks like Red Dead RP is within our grasp. The folks behind FiveM – the wildly popular mod framework that powers most of the big GTA RP servers – have confirmed that they’re working on a similar mod for when Red Dead Redemption 2 hits PC, and if things go according to plan, you won’t have to wait very long to play with it. “We’re announcing RedM for Red Dead Redemption 2 on PC,” the modders say on Twitter (via Rock, Paper, Shotgun), “to be launched around a month from the PC release (definitely in time for the holiday season!), assuming no crazy DRM obstacles.” There’s little detail on the official site, but it does promise “more info coming soon.” Either way, that’s not very long after the Red Dead Redemption 2 PC release date. The question is how Rockstar and Take-Two feel about all this. FiveM has run afoul of the companies’ lawyers in the past, but that was years ago and these days the GTA RP servers these sorts of mods have helped facilitate help power the game’s most prolific streamers.
